Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of Self Tape Pro (the “Service”), operated by [Legal Entity Name](“we,” “us,” or “our”). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. The Service

Self Tape Pro is an AI-powered rehearsal tool for actors. You can upload audition sides or scripts, select a character to read, and rehearse with an AI scene partner that reads the other characters’ lines aloud with adjustable delivery. The Service is provided for personal rehearsal and practice.

2. Eligibility & Accounts

You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority in your jurisdiction, to use the Service. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us promptly of any unauthorized use.

3. Subscriptions & Billing

The Service offers a Free tier and a paid Pro subscription at $9.99 per month. Paid subscriptions are billed in advance through our payment processor, Stripe, and automatically renew each month until canceled. You can cancel at any time from the Billing page; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. Refunds are governed by our Refund Policy.

4. User Content

You retain ownership of the scripts, sides, and other materials you upload (“User Content”). You grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to store and process your User Content solely to provide the Service to you, including transmitting it to the third-party AI providers described in our Privacy Policy. You represent that you have the rights necessary to upload your User Content and that it does not infringe the rights of others.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Upload content you do not have the legal right to use, or that infringes any third party’s intellectual property or other rights;
  • Use the Service for any unlawful, harmful, or abusive purpose;
  • Attempt to reverse engineer, scrape, overload, or circumvent any part of the Service or its usage limits;
  • Resell or redistribute the Service or its AI-generated output as a standalone product.

6. AI-Generated Output

The Service uses third-party AI models to generate spoken line readings and suggestions. AI output may be inaccurate, inconsistent, or unexpected, and is provided for rehearsal purposes only. It does not constitute professional, legal, or career advice. You are responsible for how you use it.

7. Third-Party Services

The Service relies on third-party providers, including Anthropic (AI line generation), ElevenLabs (voice synthesis), Supabase (hosting and data storage), and Stripe (payments). Your use of the Service is also subject to those providers’ terms where applicable.

8. Intellectual Property

The Service, including its software, design, and branding, is owned by us and protected by intellectual property laws. These Terms do not grant you any rights to our trademarks or other proprietary materials.

9. Disclaimers

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, revenue, or opportunities, arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service will not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.

11. Termination

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms or use the Service in a way that risks harm to us or others.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, notify you. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.

13. Governing Law
